No funding deal in Congress unless Republicans restore their cuts to Medicare and Medicaid.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Today, congressional candidate Peter Chatzky used the end of quarter moment to draw a sharper contrast with Republicans like Mike Lawler.

“Other candidates want to trumpet how much money they’ve stockpiled from corporate PACs and wealthy donors,” said Chatzky. “That’s not why I’m running. I’m the only candidate in this race calling for universal healthcare, and I’m making it clear: there should be no funding deal in Congress unless Republicans undo their cruel cuts to Medicare and Medicaid.  The impact from these cuts will damage critical services at every hospital in NY-17.”

Chatzky added: “So yes, we’ve raised what we need to compete. But Republicans like Mike Lawler are trying to steal taxpayer money to make their rich donors richer. I’m fighting to protect the programs that protect all of us.”

Unlike his opponent, Chatzky has sworn off big-money corporate PAC influence.
